My artistic practice is rooted in the hacker culture where technology is liberated from its intended use and the freedom to operate and use technology for the purpose of new applications is encouraged. Hacking involves disrupting the status quo and challenging artificial limits on technology set by business or political actors. So called hacktivism challenges how society adopts and uses (new) technologies. Recently, artificial intelligence (AI) has become ubiquitous and this impacts how I reflects on my artistic process. AI is no longer just a tool, but also an inspiration and collaborator in a creative process. The age of post-human creativity has begun and I push technology through in his artistic research , installations and livecoding performances all while maintaining the ever so important bond with the human soul and questioning the technology itself.
it can also make noise!

give me all your data and I will fullfill your whishes
how to become a good AI artist?
so just throw a lot of dice?
Live coding
feedback loop, for computer instruments this is as important as for live instruments
interact with running code, rewrite function while they are being executed. Long has this been the domain of lisp-like functional programming oparadigms, but more user friendly environments have become available in the past years, and nowadays there is absolutely no specific knowledge needed to start live coding.
So now I listed the important ingredients ofwhat I believe computational creativity is:
tools : computers & software
interaction : with humans, with the computers
data : to interact with, live input or a database
model : AI or a reasoning algorithms
Computational Creativity System
instrument with Human-Computer interaction
where the computer is given
(semi)-autonomous decision capabilities
and there is a mutual
authorship recognition (authenticity)
allowing the human to be inspired by
and achieve a way to be expressive with
a computational entity
I made that up, It should be refined, but I'm gonna go with it. Please challenge it
calculator creativity
apparently a human can be beaten by a beefy calculator at a task where that specific human appears to be the best of all humans.
but
if we pair a human mediocre at the given task, with a not so beefy calculator, they win from even the beefiest calculator...
that was before the AI reasoning age, now AI can mimic player styles, assist in cheating, or even cheats itself (latest new on reasoning AI models, wanting to win)
we take this lesson though... it's interesting
keep the human in the loop

"KEEP THE HUMAN IN THE LOOP"
Keep the humans in the loop! Experiment and do stuff that has not been done before
The Mirror

emotions are hard for computers, but you can create emotional experiences using computational creativity
This work was an interactive exploration of the depths of an AI model
